Scheffler misses Lions practice with concussion

Detroit Lions tight end Tony Scheffler missed Wednesday practice due to a concussion suffered in Sunday's game against the Packers.

Green Bay safety Jerron McMillan's shoulder shot at Scheffler's head resulted in an unnecessary roughness call in the 4th quarter.

The NFL later fined McMillan $15,000 for the hit.  He will appeal.

In 2010 Scheffler reportedly suffered a previous concussion against Green Bay.  In 2011 he suffered an additional concussion against the Chicago Bears for which he was taken to the hospital.

McMillan was fined $21,000 last season for a helmet-to-helmet hit on then Giants tight end Martellus Bennett.
