Ziggy Ansah isn't saying much about his potential contract talks with the Lions, and no one's saying much about what's limiting the Lions defensive end on the field.

The Lions opened minicamp on Tuesday and Ansah didn't do much, recovering from injuries that limited him the last two seasons.

Earlier this offseason, the Lions used the franchise tag on Ansah worth over $17 million. There's a July 16 deadline to sign an extension.

When asked about the potential and/or desire of signing an extension, Ansah didn't want to elaborate on his thoughts.

"You all will be the first to know if anything happens," he said.

The 29-year-old did share his early impressions of his new head coach, Matt Patricia.

"He's a great coach. We all know what he did with his defense previously. We just all trying to get together, trying to get a feel of what the team is going to be," Ansah said.

Then, asked if Patricia is a coach he could see himself playing for long-term, Ansah stayed on-point.

"Like I said, you'd be the first to know if anything happens with that," he said.

As far as his health is concerned, Ansah didn't detail what's keeping him from returning full-speed to team workouts.

“I’m just adhering to what the medical staff and the coaches are asking of me,” he said.
