(WXYZ) — Michigan Head Football Coach Jim Harbaugh said former running back Chris Evans has been reinstated to the university for the winter semester and will be eligible to play.

According to Harbaugh, they will welcome Evans back to the team.

Evans was suspended from the university for academic issues and wasn't enrolled in the university during his suspension.

In three seasons at Michigan, Evans rushed for 1,722 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had 392 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Last week, he hinted he would be back with the team soon.
