(WXYZ) — Former Detroit Tigers outfielder Nick Castellanos has signed a contract with the Cincinnati Reds, multiple reports said Monday.

According to Mark Sheldon with MLB.com, the deal is for four years, and it was first reported by The Athletic.

Castellanos was drafted in the first round in 2010 by the Tigers and joined the team as a 21-year-old for a few games in 2013. His first full season was in 2014.

In July 2019, Detroit traded Castellanos to the Chicago Cubs for RHP Paul Richan and RHP Alex Lange.

Castellanos spent seven seasons with the Tigers and logged 888 games with Detroit. He had a .277 batting average with 460 RBIs.

After the trade, he shined for the Cubs in just 51 games. He had a .321 batting average, .356 on-base percentage, 36 RBIs and 16 home runs.
