For 47 seasons, the Farmington Hills Harrison football coach has known one head football coach and when the school closes after next season, it will remain that way.

John Herrington is just five wins shy of the state record for wins and during the third week of the season, he was honored with his name enshrined outside the field he's won many of those games.

The "Herrington Athletic Complex" was unveiled before the Hawks first home game of the season at Farmington Hills Harrison high school.

The longtime coach got emotional when addressing the crowd, thanking all of his past players for their part in making the school the football powerhouse that it is today.

The Hawks will play one more season after the 2017 season before the school closes.
