Motown Bound: Stephen Weiss agrees on deal with Wings


The 10 seasons Stephen Weiss spent with the Florida Panthers has reached an end.

And it appears that the Red Wings have found the second line center they have wanted since free agency started.

According to reports, Weiss has agreed on a five-year deal worth $4.9 million per year with the Red Wings.

The 30-year-old center, who he made his NHL debut with the Panthers in 2002 and became the franchise's all-time leader in games played in 2012, racked up 145 goals during his time with Florida.

Weiss underwent season-ending wrist surgery in March.
