Red Wings send Emmerton, Mrazek to Grand Rapids

DETROIT - Cory Emmerton's interesting season has taken another turn.

The Red Wings sent the forward down to Grand Rapids Friday afternoon. Earlier this season, he cleared waivers, meaning the team can send him up and down as many times as they like.

Emmerton assisted on the opening goal of the season, admitting afterwards it had been a tough few days for him.

"I'd be lying to say that I wasn't a little more energized, but it's gonna be like that everyday," he said then.

In four games this season, he recorded only that one assist against Buffalo, and averaging nine minutes of ice time.

Petr Mrazek was also returned to Grand Rapids. The goaltender's move was to make room for Jonas Gustavsson, who is coming off injured reserve.
