The Lions have released tight end Andrew Quarless on Monday, who never saw any regular season game action with the team.

General Manager Bob Quinn said he had a "zero tolerance policy" when it came to having players on the roster with gun or domestic violence offenses.

Then, came the signing of Andrew Quarless, who was suspended two games by the NFL after firing off a gun in Miami last year.

After the signing in training camp, head coach Jim Caldwell had to face the questions on why the team brought in a player who went against Quinn's "zero tolerance" policy.

"Every case is different," Caldwell said.

The Lions are regrouping after losing to the Tennessee Titans 16-15 last Sunday. They travel to Green Bay this weekend.
