Michigan State's Adreian Payne makes Team USA's for World Games

(WXYZ) - Michigan State forward Adreian Payne elected to wait until next season to hear his name called at the NBA Draft. Now, he'll spend part of his summer in Russia.

Payne made the final cut for Team USA at the World University Games, earning one of 12 spots on the roster. 26 players originally tried out for the team in Colorado Springs.

The other 11 players that will join Payne are Spencer Dinwiddie (Colorado), Yogi Ferrell (Indiana), Treveon Graham (VCU), Luke Hancock (Louisville), Tyler Haws (BYU), Cory Jefferson (Baylor), Sean Kilpatrick (Cincinnati), Alex Kirk (New Mexico), Doug McDermott (Creighton), Will Sheehey (Indiana), and Aaron White (Iowa).

Team USA is going for gold for the first time since 2005. The games run July 6-17 in Kazan, Russia.
