For the third straight year the Novi Football Fantasy Camp has seen it's attendance grow.

Special needs kids had the opportunity to participate in football drills with the aid from players and cheerleaders from South Lyon East and Novi high.

The football portion is fun but the smiles that these kids faces is what this event is all about.

“It’s just amazing to give people a chance to have fun when hey probably can’t any other day,” Leytiana Cooper said.

“It’s a blast! My son was so excited to come here and he’s been talking all weekend about how he’s going to tackle, he practices with big brother at home,”

“I think he’s having a blast, I hope he grows up to be an NFL player,” big brother Easton added.

But the memories aren’t limited to just the participants. The high school athletes from South Lyon East and Novi are learning valuable life lessons that you cannot find anywhere else.

“After he caught the ball his face was so happy, it just lit up with happiness and it just warmed my heart and made my day,” incoming Novi freshman Jasmine Lopez and Amelia Kakish said.

And it wouldn’t be an authentic event with out the hydration manager who started it all, Robby Heil, ensuring that all the athletes kept cool on a hot and unforgettable night.
