You have a chance to own the first professional contract signed by Detroit Tigers legend Hank Greenberg.

The contract, up for auction through Robert Edward Auctions, is dated Sept. 19, 1929 and was between Hank Greenberg, his father David, his mother Sarah and the Detroit Baseball Company.

It was signed when he was 18 years old and gave him a $6,000 bonus at signing, plus $3,000 when he graduated from college or when he reported to the Tigers to start his baseball career.

Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1956, Greenberg won two MVP awards with Detroit. The first in 1935 and the second in 1940.

He was sent off to fight in World War II but came back with the team, playing a major role in their 1945 World Series championship.

The opening bid for the contract starts at $10,000. You can find more information here.
