DETROIT — Steve Yzerman repeatedly said he had confidence the Red Wings would get a deal done with Anthony Mantha.

That deal is indeed complete.

Mantha signed a four-year deal with the Red Wings, the team announced on Tuesday. It's worth an annual average value of $5.7 million per season, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.

The 26-year-old has 173 points in 260 career games. He was Detroit's first round pick in 2013.

Mantha was slowed by injuries last season, but totaled 16 goals and 22 assists (38 points) in 43 games. His best season came in 2019-20, when he scored 25 goals and 23 assists in 67 games.

He was a restricted free agent, and is the first player Yzerman has signed to a long-term contract in his tenure as Detroit's general manager.

"I'm confident we'll get a deal done," Yzerman said last month of Mantha. "It's both of our intentions to get a deal done."
