(WXYZ) — We're less than five months away from the second annual Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, and registration is now open for people who want to volunteer.

The tournament is looking for 2,000 volunteers for the second year, which runs from May 25-31, 2020 at the historic Detroit Golf Club.

“The inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic was a successful, award-winning event thanks to the overwhelming support and dedication of our volunteers,” said Jason Langwell, Executive Director of the Rocket Mortgage Classic. “Our volunteers were quite literally the face and soul of the tournament – they play a crucial role in the amazing service we provide our attendees. As we prepare for the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic, we encourage returning volunteers and new recruits to enjoy the event from inside the ropes and behind the scenes - experiencing how a world-class PGA TOUR tournament operation is executed.”

People interested in volunteering can visit the Rocket Mortgage Classic website and click on the volunteer tab.

It's open to anyone ages 18 and up, and those who are 15-17 can serve as junior volunteers that carry the signs with the players' scores. All volunteers must work a minimum of two five-hour shifts during the week. Some committees may require longer hours or other shift requirements.

This year, the tournament upgraded the volunteer experience with new amenities for volunteers. That includes a new volunteer entrance at the main gate, a new volunteer headquarters location and exclusive volunteer happy hours at Detroit Golf Club.

Each volunteer will also receive a volunteer credential, a weekly grounds ticket, an official Rocket Mortgage Classic volunteer uniform from Levelwear Golf and complimentary parking and meals while volunteering. It only costs a $75 participation fee.

Former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer will return as the Volunteer General Chair to oversee the committees.
