(WXYZ) — The San Francisco 49ers are hiring former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn as assistant head coach, according to a report from ESPN.
Lynn was let go by Detroit in January following one season with the Lions. He previously spent four seasons as head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.
Lynn is expected to now be a "key cog" in the 49ers’ offense and run game, according to Adam Schefter's report.
