The Detroit Lions met with Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala.

The same report says the Lions were one of four teams to meet with Mixon ahead of Wednesday's Pro Day.

Mixon is a controversial NFL prospect because of his considerable talent on the field, and the trouble he has gotten into off of it.

The worst of it was caught on tape. A video surfaced of Mixon punching a female student in the face. Mixon was subsequently suspended for the entire 2014 season.

Mixon was suspended again last season after he tore up a parking ticket and threw it in a parking attendant's face.

At the NFL combine, Lions GM Bob Quin said "We're going to leave the door open on Joe. The door's open and I'd like to be able to get a chance to sit down with the people that know Joe or or Joe and kind of see what the circumstances were around the incident."

According to this NFL Network report, Quin got his wish.
