(WXYZ) — Baseball season is in October. This is the month where legends are made.

We opened boxes of Topps baseball cards in our WXYZ sports department this week, searching for those legends and the next superstars in the making.

Cracking a box of 2019 Topps Tribute, there was no shortage of greats in the cards we pulled. Then we opend a box of 2018 Topps Luminaries, which featured one autographed encased card per box.

Check out our live video box break below, which featured a guest appearance from longtime WXYZ Detroit anchor Dave LewAllen. It turns out Dave is trying to finish his 1968 set, but is missing one card: #177. That's the Jerry Koosman/Nolan Ryan rookie card.
