The Detroit Tigers could not find a hit on St. Patrick's Day as the New York Yankees threw a combined no-hitter, beating the Tigers 3-0 on Friday in Lakeland, Fla. It was the first time a no-hitter has been thrown in Spring Training since 2015.

Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees, pitching 4 1/3 innings. It was the second time this week he hasn't allowed a hit to the Tigers.

Chasen Steven followed Tanaka for .2 innings before Jordan Montgomery closed it out by pitching four innings.

Michael Fulmer started for the Tigers, allowing three runs on four hits in just 3 1/3 innings of work.

Detroit was on a three-game winning streak before the loss. They'll play split-squad action on Saturday taking on the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins.
