(WXYZ) — A wind advisory continues for all of southeast Michigan until 11 p.m. as cold air moves across the state.
West winds could gust over 50 miles per hour at times this afternoon, which could lead to power outages around metro Detroit.
The peak gusts will occur between noon and 5 p.m. Gusts up to 30 miles per hour are still possible through midnight before the wind gets lighter overnight.
Temperatures are going to drop to the 40s the rest of the day, with wind chills in the low 30s.
Make sure you have a plan in case the power does go out, and charge all of your phones, tablets, laptops and other electronics you may need.
Typically, food in the refrigerator will stay fresh for about 4 hours (if you don't open the door). Food in a full freezer will stay fresh for about 48 hours (24 hours or less if it's only half full.)
