(WXYZ) — As Michigan remains a hot spot for COVID-19, questions emerge about how and when is the best time to get essentials — specifically groceries.

Detroiters are being encouraged to wear masks — scarves, or other coverings — when they venture out. Doctors are also recommend wearing glasses as an eye shield.

But if actually leaving one’s house is too much of a burden, a new option is available: Michigan Muslim Community Grocery Service.

Started last month the organization — whose volunteers come from a variety of faiths — will do your grocery shopping for you and deliver it to your doorstep.

If you’re interested call 734-210-0316. A volunteer will take your grocery order. The order is then delivered on to your doorstep. Clients can pay for their grocery bill either online or by leaving cash in an envelope on their doorstep. There is no delivery fee.
