The 2018 Freep Film Festival will be held April 11 -15 in Detroit.
As always, the annual event will showcase films about or relevant to Detroit, the region and Michigan in the hopes of fostering engagement and discussion about the issues and challenges we face while at the same time celebrating what makes us unique.
The closing day headliner is the documentary, "I Am Evidence." It's about the backlog of untested rape kits across the country and Detroit is one of the cities highlighted. The film is produced by 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' star Mariska Hargitay.
