(WXYZ) — It's going to be chilly with a chance of rain for Opening Day at Comerica Park in Detroit Thursday.

Temperatures start in the 30s Thursday morning and only climb into the low to mid 40s in the afternoon.

Some of metro Detroit could see light rain before the sun rises that continues through the morning. Most of the rain will be light, but it will also be cold enough to see some snow flakes mixed with the rain through the morning. More broken showers are expected by the start of the game.

The hope is that northeasterly winds will help suppress a frontal boundary farther south of I-94, and keep it drier around Detroit by the afternoon. However, keep in mind it's still going to be cold and in the low 40s. So if you're heading to the game, make sure you bring your rain gear and dress in layers. It's also a good idea to have some dry clothes in your car.
