Two local sheriff offices joined forces to help kids with a softball game at Jimmy John's Field in Utica.

Oakland County and Macomb County's sheriff offices squared off in the 'Battle of the Badges' on Wednesday night, in an effort to help Sheriff PAL programs, specifically in Pontiac.

WXYZ sports anchor Brad Galli emceed the night's festivities with Mojo from Channel 955's 'Mojo in the Morning.'

The event raised over $10,000 for the Sheriff PAL program, and over 1,000 people, including PAL families and kids, were in attendance.

Kids in the Sheriff PAL programs have programming offered to them completely free of charge.

Summer program registration is available online at the website sheriffpal.com, and summer programs begin on June 18.
