Olive Veronesi of Seminole, Pennsylvania, has been self-quarantining at home to avoid catching the novel coronavirus. Although she’s doing just fine, the 93-year-old did come close to running out of a vital staple: beer.
Seminole enlisted the help of a relative to take a photo of her at her window holding up a sign announcing an urgent plea: “I need more beer!!” In the photo, she’s smiling broadly and holding up a can of Coors Light just in case anyone who saw the sign was wondering about her brew of choice.
The cheeky photo began making the rounds on social media, and people couldn’t get enough of Veronesi’s honest and funny message. On April 13, Molson Coors came to the rescue by delivering 150 cans of the beer to her home.
KDKA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh, posted the photo on Facebook, and it has now racked up more than 27,000 reactions, more than 3,000 comments and more than 51,000 shares:
“TOO FUNNY: 93-year-old Olive Veronesi from Seminole, PA is doing her part to stay home and stay safe, and she’s sending this message to her neighbors and her daughter,” read the caption.
For their part, Molson Coors was happy to help a customer in need.
“When we saw Olive’s message, we knew we had to jump at the chance to not only connect with someone who brought a smile to our faces during this pandemic, but also gave us a special opportunity to say thanks for being a Coors Light fan,” a Molson Coors spokesperson said in an email statement. “Even in the pre-COVID era, we would’ve been thrilled to fulfill Olive’s request. But in this moment, during these unusual times, bringing a little bit of joy to someone’s day is the least we can do.”
After the delivery, Veronesi made a new sign: “Got more beer” she wrote on her dry erase board with a heart.

Veronesi says she was down to her last 12 cans when she made her request. As she usually drinks a cold one each night, she’ll be set for quite some time!
