Ford wants to save your relationship by employing vehicle assist technology to your bed

Ford, the automotive giant, thinks it may hold the key to a happy marriage: smart beds.

The high-tech bed rolls squirmy sleepers back into place by using new car technology and a “gentle” conveyor belt.

It’s called the “Lane Keeping Bed” and it uses “Lane-Keeping Assist” technology in a bed to ensure the bed hog in your life “stays in their lane” at night.

Essentially, here’s how it works: pressure sensors identify when someone has strayed from their side of the bed and gently returns them to where they should be with the help of an integrated conveyor belt.

It’s the same technology Ford uses in its entire vehicle lineup by monitoring road markings ahead and guiding the vehicle back into the correct lane by nudging the steering wheel in the correct direction.

“Lane-Keeping Bed” is just a prototype and part of a series of Ford Interventions, which applies automotive expertise to tackle everyday – or in this case, every night – problems.

Ford Interventions made headlines recently with its noise canceling kennels.
