HIGHLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) — LaFontaine Automotive Group is growing once again, adding Glenn Buege Buick GMC in Lansing to its family of companies.

“This is an exciting day for my family and the entire LaFontaine Automotive Group as we expand and reinforce our presence in Lansing and the surrounding communities,” COO Ryan LaFontaine said in a release. “With three Lansing locations, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat, Ford and now Buick GMC, we will be able to deliver a wide selection of vehicles and service opportunities to the Lansing community and delight our customers with the ‘Family Deal.’”

The company was founded in 1980 by Michael and Maureen LaFontaine, and has grown to 36 dealers, six collision centers and 17 dealers in Michigan, employing nearly 1,400 people.

“LaFontaine has been involved with the greater Lansing community for nearly a decade, supporting many local organizations and events, including the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Sparrow Foundation, McLaren Health Care and Meridian Area Business Association to name a few” Vice President Kelley LaFontaine added in a release. “We are excited to explore new opportunities that positively impact the lives of those living and working in the Lansing area.”

Robert Simmons, the executive general manager with the group, will oversee the new location in Lansing. He started in 1981 as a parts driver and now oversees two other Buick GMC dealerships.
