(WXYZ) — We aren't done with this stretch of unusually-warm weather in metro Detroit this week. Temperatures will climb back into the 50s for Christmas Day, which should make us warmer than L.A. (and drier).
The record high temperature of 64° (1982) for December 25 won't be challenged. However, most of the list in the top five warmest Christmas Days are from the 1800s.
So, this Christmas is forecasted to be the warmest Christmas Day since 1982, and the sixth warmest on record in metro Detroit, which goes back to 1874.
