SOUTH LYON, Mich. (WXYZ) — It’s the latest phone scam making the rounds, attempting to siphon thousands of dollars from seniors.
When one South Lyon elderly woman got the call, she was minutes away from draining thousands of dollars from her bank account, after believing the person on the other end of the phone was her son.
She's sharing her story with 7 Action News as a warning in the hopes of preventing others from falling victim.
