A woman walking her dog in Orion Township Wednesday was hit from behind by a vehicle.

The 66-year-old victim told police she was walking her dog westbound on Morgan Road in the eastbound lane to watch for oncoming traffic.

A vehicle was traveling westbound on Morgan Road when the driver merged into the eastbound lane and hit the victim and her dog.

The woman says she yelled for the vehicle to stop and help her, but the driver continued westbound. The woman suffered a fractured arm. The impact killed the 10-year-old poodle mix.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a large white SUV with two rear windows and long vertical brake lights.

A good samaritan stopped to help the woman and called police. Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at (800) SPEAK-UP.
