A 70-year-old Wayne County man is a million dollars richer after hit hit the Lotto 47 Jackpot over the weekend.

The man actually thought he'd written down the wrong numbers when he saw his numbers matched the $1.3 million jackpot. They were 09-23-28-35-41-45 and were drawn Saturday.

The man bought his ticket at the Mobil Gas Station on Van Born Rd. in Dearborn Heights.

“I had bought five tickets for the drawing, and when I checked the last one I matched all six numbers," he said. "I thought I had written the numbers down wrong, so I asked my wife to run up to the store to get a printout. When I matched my ticket to the numbers on the printout, I knew I was the winner!”

The man went to lottery headquarters on Wednesday to claim his prize, a one-time lump sump payment of $825,000.

Last month, a 33-year-old Washtenaw County man won a $19 million Lotto 47 jackpot.
