Audi is recalling about 1.2 million vehicles worldwide.

The German automobile manufacture says the electric coolant pumps in several cars and SUVs can "overheat and possibly cause a fire."

The recall is for the following Audi vehicles:

2013 to 2016 A4

2013 to 2017 A5

2012 to 2015 A6

and the Q5 SUV from 2013 to 2017

A news release states that all of the vehicles listed have 2-Liter turbocharged engines.

The Volkswagen luxury brand stated in U.S. government documents that the pumps can become blocked with cooling system debris, or moisture in the pump can cause an electrical short.

The pumps will be replaced at no cost to owners, but redesigned parts won't be ready until November, a spokesman for the company said. Until then, dealers will install a new version of the current pump until the redesigned pumps are available.

The same Audi vehicles were recalled in 2017, prompting dealers to do a software update.

Audi owners should expect to receive recall letters on or before June 11.
