DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit Book City bookstore is holding its fourth annual African-American Family Book Expo on Saturday, Feb. 22.

It is the largest independent black book fair in the state and attracts more than 60 authors.

The event includes adult and children's books from across the country, some of which will be autographed, along with featured pitch sessions and storytelling. It's kid-friendly as well, with children being provided free Black History coloring sheets, crayons, bookmarks and goodies.

The honorary guest speaker is Dr. Regina Jennings, a professor of African/African American Studies who was in the Black Movement in 1968, along with the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. She will hold a spoken-word poetry session.
