DETROIT (WXYZ) — Here's your chance to leave your personal mark at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Throughout the month of February, as part of the the DIA's Black History Month Celebration, the DIA will host a free community quilt design drop-in workshop. Visitors will have a chance to add their square to a collaborative quilt design hanging in the learning center of the DIA.
Supplies such as scissors, glue and fabric will be provided during the workshop.
The event is scheduled for a few dates at the Art Making studio on 5200 Woodward Avenue in Detroit:
- Friday, Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, Feb. 1 & Sunday, Feb. 2 from noon to 4 p.m.
General museum admission is free for Macomb, Oakland and Wayne county residents.
