All lanes on Northbound Groesbeck at Martin Road are now closed after a car accident turned fatal.

Police are still investigating the scene, but have released that a 36-year-old female, driving a 2005 Silver Pacifica, was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Two other people were in the woman's vehicle. The front passenger was a 66-year-old woman, and in the rear seat was a 6- to 8-year-old boy. The 66-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in apparent critical condition, while the boy was treated for minor injuries at the scene and turned over to a family member.

The other driver involved in the accident was taken to a local medical facility for non-life-threatening injuries. They were driving a 2004 Silver Grand Prix.

Police say it appears the driver of the Pacifica lost control for an unknown reason. The Pacifica hit the rear of the Grand Prix.

Deputy Chief Glandon encourages drivers to avoid the area for the next few hours.

Northbound traffic is being diverted onto Westbound Martin. Southbound Groesbeck traffic is being directed to the right two lanes.
