A Clarkston teen is admittedly "taking a shot in the dark" by asking a Canadian airline to front the costs for him to visit his girlfriend in Newfoundland, Canada.
C.J. Poirier, 19, tweeted out on Tuesday, May 1, "@AirCanada How many retweets to get a free round trip flight to Newfoundland and see my girlfriend?"
According to the teen, the airline responded with a number.
530,000 retweets would get the romantic hopeful to Newfoundland to see his love, Becca. And he's started a hashtag for the movement: #530KforBecca.
Because of my financial status, I wouldn’t be able to afford a ticket to Newfoundland to see my girlfriend. So I’ve taken a shot in the dark...
If we can get 530k Retweets, the people over at @AirCanada will give me a free round trip flight.#530KforBecca https://t.co/Woedbzvyql

With 26,000 tweets so far by Friday evening, Poirier said he's trying to average at least 2,200 retweets an hour over the next 10 days to reach his goal.
STATUS UPDATE: If we manage to get roughly 2,200 Retweets an hour over the next 10 days, we'd be able to reach the goal. I know that seems like a lot, but you all have been crushing it more than I ever dreamed, so I have hope! Keep it up! #530KforBecca
