(WXYZ) — Former Detroit Tigers Pitcher Justin Verlander and his wife, Kate Upton, are working to help the Detroit Police Department.
In a tweet, Verlander and Upton said they were "heartbroken to hear what's happening in Detroit," especially with the police department.
Bella Canvas is providing 25,000 masks and B Strong will provide touchless thermometers. They also donated to Feed the Frontlines which helps local restaurants and feed first responders.
Detroit is close to @KateUpton and my hearts & we wanted to support the resilient community & first responders through #PPE & food deliveries. Thank you to @BellaCanvasLA @Ford @fordfund_ & #bstrong for rallying around @detroitpolice @CityofDetroit & @FTFDetroit #covid19 pic.twitter.com/3v9EZ3bBWk
