A woman's body was found in the road in Harrison Township early Wednesday morning, according to police.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office were investigating a fatal crash at Jefferson and Shook Roads around 5:15 a.m.
After reviewing surveillance video from the nearby Ruth Motel, detectives learned the woman was struck and killed by a vehicle. According to detectives, the woman's boyfriend also spent the night before at the motel.
Family members have set up a GoFundMe account for funeral costs.
However, family members say the woman was partying with her boss and not her boyfriend.
Witnesses told 7 Action News, the man and woman had a heated argument and the motel owner kicked the woman out around 4 a.m. She was seen sitting at the property's edge and discovered in the road about an hour later.
Police are working to notify the woman's family before releasing her identity.
