Detroit Police are searching for a suspect wanted for involvement in an assault that happened in the downtown area. 

On July 4 around 11:00 p.m., a 53-year-old man was leaving a convenience store on Woodward behind a group of men. One of the men left the group, approached the 53-year-old victim and struck him in his left eye with an unknown object. 

EMS took the victim to a local hospital where he was listed in serious condition at the time of the incident.
