Dozens of young professionals in metro Detroit will spend the night outside all for a good cause.

It's part of the Detroit Young Professional Sleep Out benefiting Covenant House Michigan.

Covenant House, which is located in Detroit, is a nonprofit organization that provide hope to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth ages 18-24. Since its inception in September 1997, they have helped over 60,000 youth.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, the participants, ages 23-29, will arrive at Covenant House for a full night of events, which wrap up at 7 a.m.

Each participant must raise at least $1,000 to sleep out, with the goal of raising $60,000 for Covenant House of Michigan. As of Tuesday, the 49 participants have raised $46,375.

They'll spend the night in boxes or sleeping bags
