A Christmas catastrophe, a man shot and another on the run after an argument turns violent on Detroit’s east side.

It’s a Christmas one family will never forget, destroyed by a man the U.S. Marshals say is armed and dangerous and hiding amongst us here in Metro Detroit.

“The fact is occurred Christmas morning, a day of joy, a day of family, that it escalated to gun violence, it’s pretty sad,” Deputy Rob Watson of the U.S. Marshals said.

Police say it’s unclear what led up to the December 25th violence.

“The victim was shot in the torso, the bullet penetrated all the way through the victim’s body and was lodged in the microwave of the kitchen,” Watson said. “Shot him in the torso, left the gun at the scene and left the victim laying in his own blood.

The victim survived and told police 46-year-old Delano Horn is the man responsible.

“Innocent people, there’s kids opening presents on Christmas, there’s so many things that could have happened and that is all the more reason to get this person off the street,” Watson said.

Horn has been on the run ever since the crime at his home, he’s abandoned his family and all his belongings.

“He’s been able to stay under the radar but he’s no stranger to criminal justice, he’s had many run in’s with police and he needs to be caught,” Watson said.

Delano Horn is 6’1” tall and 240 pounds and believed to be armed and dangerous.

“It looks like he’s got a little bit of a scar under his right eye, he usually has his head shaved, a little bit of facial hair in most of his pictures,” Watson said.

Police say horn has gone completely off the radar since that Christmas morning shooting.

“He has ties to the east side of Detroit, we believe he’s still in the greater Metro Detroit area- we need tips from the viewers of Channel 7 to help put this guy away,” Watson said.

As always there’s a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of Delano Horn.
