One person is dead following a crash on northbound I-75 near Sashabaw Road in Independence Township.
Police say around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Auburn Hills Police officers were dispatched to a suspected drunk driver in a Jeep SUV.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it did not stop and a short pursuit pursued. The pursuit was terminated and the officer stopped pursuing the vehicle.
The Jeep continued on northbound I-75, leaving the City of Auburn Hills.
It was then involved in a crash in Independence Township, and the driver suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
Michigan State Police is investigating the crash and ask any witnesses to call 248-584-5740.
