DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 37-year-old Detroit intoxicated woman nearly hit a Michigan State Police vehicle on the Davison Freeway early Saturday morning.

MSP troopers were blocking two lanes of traffic on westbound Davison around 3 a.m. Saturday for troopers investigating a crash that happened just west of that location, according to MSP. That is when the drunk driver just avoided hitting the rear of the MSP vehicle. The trooper noticed the vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed and was able to narrowly avoid it.

After the vehicle passed, troopers were able to use a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle.

The woman's blood alcohol content registered at 0.27 percent, police say. She was arrested for OWI and taken to the Detroit Detention Center.
