The scheduled eastbound I-696 weekend closure from US-24/Telegraph to I-75 has been canceled due to weather.
MDOT says the closure was part of its "Restore the Reuther" project from one end of the freeway to the other.
This area of the freeway had weeknight lane closures for saw cutting in preparation for the weekend closure for removing and replacing some concrete sections and other repairs.
It is unclear when the closure will be rescheduled.
