A case of hepatitis A was confirmed in an employee of Fenton Winery & Brewery, according to the Genesee County Health Department.
Those who consumed food or drinks at the facility located on Long Lake Road on May 26 through May 31 may have been exposed to hepatitis A.
Health department officials say this does not include the retail portion of the winery/brewery business
Vaccination can prevent the disease if given within 14 days after exposure. The health department recommends anyone who visited the Fenton Winery & Brewery during these dates who has a sudden onset of symptoms to contact their health care provider.
Michigan is currently experiencing a serious outbreak of hepatitis A. Genesee County is considered to be an outbreak county.
