Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has been transferred to a federal prison in Philadelphia after years in the south.
Kilpatrick, 47, has spent the past few years at a federal prison in Oklahoma.
The federal detention center in Philadelphia houses more than 1,000 inmates.
In 2013, a federal jury convicted Kilpatrick of racketeering, bribery, and other corruption charges.
The ex-mayor is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence. His release date on the Federal Bureau of Prisons database is set for Aug. 1, 2037.
