Less than a year after announcing it was opening an office in the city of Detroit, LinkedIn announced it has signed a lease in Detroit's Sanders Building.
Since the announcement in August, LinkedIn has been working out of a temporary office space with about 13 employees, but that has grown to about 40 employees and now they are moving to the permanent spot on Woodward Ave.
Renovations are currently underway and they plan to move into the space within the next year.
This will be LinkedIn's first new U.S. office in 10 years. Detroit was selected out of a pool of 10 cities.
“LinkedIn knows more about the absolute importance of connectedness than anyone else, so it only made sense that they look to Detroit’s urban core for their next office,” said Dan Gilbert, Bedrock Founder and Chairman. “LinkedIn’s move downtown is even more proof that Detroit’s tech scene is rapidly growing, bringing with it established companies and start-ups alike."
