MONROE, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 19-year-old mother and her 22-year-old boyfriend are in jail after a child was found not breathing in Monroe.
On Sunday, police were dispatched to the 700 block of S. Roessler St. on the report of a 2-year-old boy with no pulse. Once officers arrived, CPR was initiated.
Police say the child appeared to have severe bruising on and about most of his body.
The teen and her boyfriend were questioned by detectives and lodged in the Monroe County Jail, after the investigation and evidence collected at the scene.
Charges of Child Abuse and Assault with Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder are being sought.
The child is in critical, but stable condition.
