The southbound lanes of I-75 are shut down near Livernois Saturday morning for a homicide investigation.

Michigan State Police say a 28-year-old man was taken to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn overnight after being shot while traveling down the freeway around 3:30 a.m. He later died at the hospital.

Troopers have closed the road since 5:30 a.m. as they search for evidence. They say the victim was from Lincoln Park.

A witness told police that a white or silver Chrysler 300 was involved.
