A 34-year-old man died early Saturday morning on Detroit's west side after he was struck by a driver who disregarded a traffic signal.
Police say the suspect, a 29-year-old man, was driving a 1997 white Oldsmobile northbound on Telegraph when he disregarded a traffic signal and struck the victim traveling eastbound on West McNichols.
There was a power outage in the area and the location should have been treated as a four-way stop.
Police say the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. The suspect was arrested; police say alcohol may have been a factor.
