A Michigan State Police car was rear-ended by a car at westbound I-96 in Livonia early Sunday morning.
A sergeant was in the right lane when he observed a vehicle in the left center lane coming up at about 87 miles per hour.
The suspect driver crossed all lanes, rear-ending the patrol car. The sergeant was released from the local hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect appeared to have no injuries; sobriety tests were given, which he failed.
He has been taken into custody, police say.
