The Platform broke ground this week on a new mixed-use development coming to Detroit's Milwaukee-Junction neighborhood.

Baltimore Station 2, located on Baltimore Ave. off of John R. and north of Grand Blvd., is a $29 million project that will bring 115,000 square feet of develoment to the area near New Center and Midtown.

Baltimore Station 2 will have private and co-living apartments with access to communal spaces. The apartments will include appliances, built-in shelving, in-unit washer and dryer, private roof decks and some furnished apartment options.

On top of that, there will be a 24-hour lobby, gym, yoga studio, community garden, valet parking, rooftop deck and ground floor retail.

“We are very proud of the Baltimore Station development because of its design, the co-living aspect of the building program and the transit-oriented location. All three are important aspects of future development in our great city of Detroit,” said Dietrich Knoer, president & CEO of the Platform.

Combined with Baltimore Station 1, there will be 161 residences and 19,000 square feet of retail space.

Baltimore Station 1 which was a rehab of two historic buildings on Woodward Ave., is now leasing and will open this summer. Woodpile BBQ Shack, located in Clawson, will open its second location in Baltimore Station 1.

Baltimore Station 2 is expected to be completed in summer 2019.
